Cute invites!!

We like cards. Recently, fsil told us that when she goes out to get someone a card she eventually just settles because she knows that we will get the best card out of every card out there. :) And we each get our own cards!

So of course we were going to be totally picky about our invitations. We went to Papyrus, my favorite card store OF ALL TIME and I was totally disappointed about just how...square...they were. Traditional, plain...nothing about them stood out. I was totally bummed.

Then, I found etsy. I poured over the site for hours. Seriously, it was an insane amount of hours that I stared at the computer looking for the perfect invites. I'm so happy to say we found them!!!

check out the awesome poster in the background!

cute smile
obviously, I'm pretty excited.

here's our suite!! :)

invite...shimmer! :) (ps my hair is auburn because it should have been my natural color!)

so excited to see what people are going to do!!! :)

reception card=love

I'm sorry for such crappy quality pics...Edward wasn't being too nice to me with the limited light. It works though and I'm so excited about them. So is Richard (aka PeachGroom)! We love etsy so much now...I'm constantly sending him links for things I want and not just wedding related things!

Much appreciation goes out to Shannon at Felice Designs! We love these fun invites so much and can't wait for people to start receiving them in early January...sounds so far away, doesn't it???

Tuesday shoesday: groomsgirl edition (and a teaser)

I really dig the idea of a navy cocktail length dress with a nude colored shoe, don't you?

of course, I don't expect fsil to buy this but it's still really, really, really pretty.

my taste is way too expensive for this

Next Tuesday's mission should be finding nude pumps that are actually affordable... a bride can dream! :)

Oh and that teaser I was telling you about...it's from our invitations that we got yesterday!!! :) I hope you enjoy it as much as we do!

Hi, I'm a card girl

Good thing that doesn't say "call girl". Aaannnnyway! :)

A few weeks ago I realized why I'm so obsessive over invitations. I'm the kind of person that walks into Hallmark for a birthday card and I'm there for at least a half hour and tend to walk out with more than just one birthday card because I find the perfect birthday card for someone else. I'm the girl who sees a card from Papyrus and I want to cry. (I want to register for Papyrus cards just so we can look at the pretty cards we got for our bridal shower/wedding.) Cards can say exactly what you want to say even if you don't know how to say it yourself.

I've seen the invites that say nothing but so and so is getting married, if you decide to come here's where to be and what time. Boring. Not personal. Traditional. In my opinion, that's just ugly. Why would you not want to represent the feel of your wedding in the invitation to the biggest day of your life so far? It's not like you need to pay an arm and a leg for it either. My mom got an invite a year or so ago that was just so boring and said nothing that I said "well, this was a waste of money". I want people to see why my fiance and I picked the invite that we did and say wow, this is so them. This is original. This is fun. I'm not saying they need to tuck it away forever (though I would because I'm a pack rat. Not a hoarder. A pack rat. Neither sound good, do they?) but I just want them to get the feeling of what we're trying to set for our wedding: friends, family, fun, happiness, celebration, marriage and true love.

etsy

Hello my name is Jen and I'm addicted to etsy.

No, really. I am so addicted. I've scrolled through an unmentionable amount of pages for an unmentionable amount of hours looking at unique, modern, cute, pretty invitations. This. Is. Amazing! I now know that my invites are not going to be traditional, boring and cheap (looking at least, I am on a budget here!). I know I may be jumping the gun a bit here but I'm so excited that this is out there for people to be able to channel their creativity and be recognized for it! Lord knows I couldn't do that! I may have been the brownie troop's daughter but I didn't get a lot of my mom's crafty side.

I'm currently trying to stop looking at it for the day so cross your fingers. (I know you're laughing, PeachGroom...)
