Yesterday was a productive wedding planning day. 2 meetings; one with the catering manager at our reception venue and one with our photographer! Yes, we have a photographer! I know we haven't made a lot of decisions yet but that one will probably be our hardest. Isn't it the hardest for everyone? Photography is the only thing you really have left of your wedding day. (Except that frozen top layer of your cake, which I don't think we're going to do...sounds gross.)

Our new catering manager seems nice and it totally sounds like she'll go the distance for us, which is a huge plus because we can't afford a wedding coordinator at this point really. I did mention Christmas lights under the tablecloth at the sweetheart table which made her tilt her head and this popped into my head:

"you mean you don't look up wedding porn to keep up to date?"

Thank God I didn't actually say that.

I think this wedding is going to be fun. There are so many ideas brewing right now and I can't wait to see how it all comes together. First I need to make sure it actually does come together...



  1. placement cards are gonna be fun. additional requirement: unique indication of entre selection.

  2. Sounds great! When is your Wedding Day?? Being able to afford a Wedding Coordinator can seem not as important when you truly don't have the budget, however I would advise to look into a day of coordinator! If the reception Venue has a day of Maitre De to assure your day goes smooth,(which is only for the reception, unless your having your wedding ceremony there too) that's wonderful too! None the Less a Day of Wedding Coordinator comes in at least a month prior and truly makes sure your day runs smooth and is with you when you wake up until you walk out the door at the end of the reception and after!
    So not to write so much, but I would consider it, as it is a great investment to your sanity as a Bride & Groom to be! Either way, I do wish you the best of luck with Planning!!

  3. Thanks Brittany! We were considering that but our budget doesn't really allow for it. Not only that, our church is really strict and won't deal with one. I think we got lucky with our venue that we have a person that will kind of act as one.

    I'm telling you though, I'm so going to be a wedding planner for my friends. :)
